Each major chord has these twelve more variations. Notice that the 12 major chords take only three fingers to form. The other variations can include four and even five fingers but still play around the major chord. Some song lyrics have major or minor chords only. In practicing, especially for beginners, it is better to start with songs with simple chords first. The technique is to memorize the twelve major notes and then the twelve major chords and then get acquainted with the variations.
